It would be nice to see Cingular get Ptt going.

Kodiak in trials with the LG F7200 embedded client running on the Cingular Network displayed an average latency time of 1-2 seconds, still slightly below Nextel, but by far and away going to be the best available of the rest of what's out there, and the nationwide spectrum that Cingular is offering is far larger than what Nextel is currently offering, so it is a gain either way.

Orange has had good results using Kodiak in Europe. It'll be nice to see some competition for Nextel. I'm sick of hearing Nextel pundits screaming about how anything but their PTT service sucks. It's boring me silly.

There you go with the whole "Kodiak already has a delay of 2-3 seconds" thing. We know you're a proud member of the Nextel cult. Pardon us if we decide to think for ourselves.

I am not too familiar with the Kodiak PTT. I am hearing about delays about 1-2 seconds. Is there any possible way this will be reduced in the near future? From the sounds of it, Cingular will only convert clients from Nextel who are not hardcore users. Companies that really depend on the quickness of the Nextel PTT will not even consider switching over even with an aggressive price point. In order to finally knock Nextel off their rocker, other companies simply need a better product. I know the CDMA PTT is not much competition so i was curious whether this technology has potential.
So back to my original question: are there any up and coming upgrades in the near future to make this technology better? Thanks.
