What???!!! You and T-bone both miss the fact that Amber Alerts are also part of this service. And there's no way to look up in the sky and see those. Furthermore, you may know there's a storm brewing, but that doesn't necessarily mean you know there's a tornado warning in your area. It's ridiculous to assert that people who aren't glued to a television are somehow "under-aware consumers". And anyone wearing a big enough tinfoil hat to think that emergency alerts are some kind of government interference isn't going to have a cell phone anyway (and they certainly are not the majority of ATT's consumer base as you laughably assert). I really doubt that ATT has been disenfranchising its customers because its worried about those people.This is simply a case of ATT failing to offer a valuable service that other carriers have had for years. The fact that you fail to see that value changes nothing.
