this is what they said to me...

first they were unaware of this... until i referred them to T&C... they told me

-people will be notified in stages
-there will be a select phone either chosen or sent to you (more then likely a ZTE or other chinese phone)
-you wont be able to get it done at the sprint store without upgrading and paying for a phone
- your address must be in a Wimax market but i think they were reading too much into things... (example, my billing is shentel but im located in S. FL)

I work for Sprint, most of us were told about the change but have not been told the specifics of it.

These changes won't go into effect for a while since we are support WiMax for a couple more years.

A free LTE phone is pretty good, regardless of the quality. Remember Sprint doesn't manufacture the phones and they aren't cheap. So we're not going to just give people iPhone 7s or Galaxy S6's for free. I don't know any company that would do that. So to complain about the quality of the phone that you would get for nothing is ridiculous...If you're not happy with the device GIVEN to you, then upgrade to a better one. Rolling Eyes

Amen! Seriously oh I love it when people say " I am on a budget, or I am on SSI, I cant afford it, blah blah" I am with X company for 10 years why isnt my loyalty appreciated?

If you cant afford a phone DONT BUY IT!!! =.=

If I cant afford payments on a BMW im gonna go buy a KIA damn. Why are people so irresponsible and ignorant to the fact that these phones are no longer $200 $300 they are now $600 $800 phones!!!

I love it when they call with a similar argument:

"I've been with you for X years and you all should give me X phone 'cause I deserve it."

My response:

"I've bought my gas from the same company for 10 years and they've never paid a single time on my car."

As though cell phone service is an entitlement program. If you ask for something outside of your wireless agreement, then you should acknowledge that you are not entitled to it. By signing up, you agree to pay for the service and by signing for equipment you agree to not being eligible for another discount for X period of time. If you don't like it, don't agree to it.

I really don't think that the responders or Suciobeats intended to be antagonistic towards you, and I honestly think I myself excel in reading. More likely, if you review our posts, you'll find that we never specified you, but instead identified a type of customer that calls and makes senseless complaints. Reviewing our posts, you'll find that we never identified you specifically as the "complaintive customer," and if, indeed, you plan to upgrade to the device you prefer rather than those offerred by Sprint then you are by definition falling into the second category S-beats defined: those sensible customers who choose to upgrade instead of receiving a device they are not satisfied with. Therefore, I fear your aggression is unnecessary. Fo...
