The king is dead...

Jun 12, 2013, 10:27 AM
The king of smartphone OS just a handful of years ago is now dead. There are some very unique things that Symbian had to offer that I have yet to see on the major smartphone platforms but touch interaction and web browsing were not its strengths.

Isn't the saying "The king is dead, long live the king" ?

And yes, I agree, however they are the new kings of Windows phone, and I really like the looks of these new devices. They are very capable.

Android is the new king. But Symbian was also used by multiple vendors and as Samsung is the top dog for Android, Nokia was top dog for Symbian. I miss being able to record phone calls, have on device answering machine and other things that seem to be lacking in the current mobile operating systems.

You can find apps for Android capable of doing such things.

However, I wished Nokia would once again make top notch voice phones. I miss the sound quality (and volume) of older E series Symbian phones.
