"The companies together believe that reworking the finances is a win for Sprint's shareholders and reflects Sprint's Network Vision progress and profitability improvements."

So, I could just be horrendous at math, but it seems to me that if you cut a $4.9 billion dollar investment by $3 billion, to instead give that money to shareholders in cash, reducing the investment in Sprint to $1.9 billion, is JUST a win for shareholders, and not so much a reflection on Network Vision progress... then again, that's going terribly, so maybe this was stated pretty precisely. Profitability improvements too, sure you invest less and the lackluster profits remain the same, i'd call that a profitability improvement versus what the write off might have be...

Network Vision is actually progressing quite well. You need more accurate info to offer a well informed opinion.

Considering that ive been a Sprint customer for 16 years, sold and promoted Sprint, and continue to stay on top of the companies overall activities, I would venture to say that my opinion might be far more "informed" than yours. Today alone I've been on the phone with Kansas City 4 times because their network vision that you allege to be "progressing quite well" has been non stop outages in north San Diego county since they started work in December, my iPhone5 gets knocked off the network 2-3 times a week where I need them to call and refresh the device in their system. 6 months per area is the time frame for the NV to be completed, June makes 7 months here and its still worse than when they started, with a very inadequate LTE footprint in...

. . .

You and I have very different ideas of what "progressing nicely" means, next time try just googling "Sprint network vision progress" so you come into the conversation with a clue.

No, you need to get a clue before continuing this discussion.

If you are just a Sprint sub and are relying on info from Sprint, your own complaints, and complaints of others, then you are not getting the real scoop. I am a writer for S4GRU, so I know the Network Vision in...

Thank you! Finally someone with a real understanding of Sprint Vision Network. Vision network is the business, I really hope that Sprint can get it done by the end of the year along with 4G LTE 🙂

Sprint does not get a pat on the back for having decided to catch up late in the game. While I understand that Sprint is rebuilding its network with the future in mind, it wasn't because they just chose not to "bolt on" like the big 3 did. They needed to make a monumental effort to catch up, and like with most of their failed efforts at innovation, they decided to overshoot the mark with network vision. you have access to documenst, internal plans? Awesome, they must provide you with such amazing service!! Get a clue, Mr. Important. the same network "access" that you have is what the general traveling public is disappointed by on a very regular basis by Sprint. And if it were something different, well now doesn't that do wonders for th...

Haha. jaded much? You sound like you are speaking from emotion. Just accept that Sprint is finally making a change for the better and get over yourself you also cited your "credibility" and why you are important in your opinion. Better late than never good sir. Once upon a time Apple almost went bankrupt, in time we shall see all carriers improve. ;)

I guess to an extent I might be jaded... I've watched the company make the same moves with the same formula over and over again to no avail. First in 4G? was there a reason to head down that dead end? Only buying 56% of clearwire just to shovel cash at them at every turn, the justification at the time was "limited liability" in case Xohm failed.. um, yea. so when the latest and greatest "Network Vision started with them reducing tower overlap, and in the process leaving me with no service at home sans acrobatics I kinda lost hope. They got a couple fancy phones, slowed the bleeding, and now will see the last exodus of Nextel this quarter, then steps in a very limited Softbank, who just decided to pay out another $3 billion instead of ...

I understand. Yes they have had some questionable moves. Clearwire has been nothing but a headache for them. At the time its not something that someone can foresee as a failure it had promise and I am sure they have a plan B for it and we are seeing it executed now slowly but surely they will get it done.

I have faith that Sprint going forward will do better. I mean they have improved overall as a company specially with the customer service aspect. They can only get better if you know what I mean 😛
