As a long time Mac user, I have to say I can't stand the look of the new phone OS. What made the Mac and iphone OS cool was the 3-D look. Shadows, and a "real" looking yellow note pad, this flat look is almost cartoon-ish. Why is Apple following the lead of M$?

Because the OS was getting stale and needed to be revamped. It looks a hell of a lot better than Microsofts software, time will tell how it is though.

Erm...quite a few features were taken from Palm before this..but technically they'd be borrowing from HP now, which is open sourced now.

no its not from WebOS(Palm) the new look, looks like iOS and WP8 had a baby and it looks good, considering both of those mobile operating systems are my favorite

What I'm saying is that it wouldn't be the first time they've used something from Palm.
