Not "patented"

The full article cites to a Samsung published patent application - not to an issued US Patent. The Samsung patent application, by itself, provides no patent protection - it is just an application for a patent.

Let's wait and see, after examination by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, if a patent issues, and what the scope of the claims are (the claims define the breadth of the invention).

Thus, the Samsung concept is not yet "patented" as the article states.
