This is NEW? I remember searching Google's Mobile web with my 7160 a few years ago. Is this different...really not new??

I also remember using Google's WAP page to search regular web pages as well.

For a very long time Google has let you search the full web from your phone, and even provided a free web-to-WAP conversion service with the results.

But to my knowledge Google has not indexed WAP pages and made them searchable until now.

Actually, I may have jumped the gun... this new service aparrently searches xHTML pages, while there may have been an older Google offering that searched WML pages...

I take that back.. I think. I honestly don't know. The Google FAQs for their mobile service are unusually confusing.

Whatever the case may be, I think the idea is a great one.

LOL 🤣

Yes, I didn't really take into much account the xHTML ... I remember the HTML->WML conversion but they did have the WML search which was also called "Search Mobile Web". I remember being able to choose regular or mobile web via a WML browser.

It was kind of funny that you could find WML porn sites with it. Black and white aweful greyscale porn on a Nokia 3360 screen. The fact that it could be and was done awed some people. 😲

The URL I used was google.com/wap I beleive (which they mention google.com/xhtml or /wml in the FAQ).

There's something REALLY wrong about black and white nudity on your 3360. Wow.
