There is pre-paid and MVNOs. That is why I dropped post-paid and contracts years back.

I agree. I am so fed up with the fees. I don't need a smartphone, I just prefer a heavy duty rugged phone, which I can get for cheap on Ebay. Once I am done with my contract with my carrier, I am going to go prepaid.

Exactly the way I did it.
Everyone nowadays are datawhores and are stuck with post-paid contracts paying out their !"X&%$ for excessively high bills and fees.

Metro PCS, Cricket, T-Mobile are all valid options with the latest phones. Boost, Virgin, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, AIO, etc. will all give you 4G speeds and fairly recent phones. Try again.

Metro PCS is trash. Cricket has limited availability. T-Mobile has limited coverage.

And what if someone wanted a HTC ONE or Galaxy S4? Sorry full retail price. Its hard to come up with that amount of money.

Boost and Virgin have 4g? Really where? Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, and AIO have LTE? Really?

Nice try bud.

That is exactly my point. There is hardly any Wimax or LTE from Sprint. Thank you for proving my point.

Well although you are partially correct I would have to disagree for all carriers dont offer 4G LTE or sometimes even 3G everywhere it is virtually impossible.

Those fee's however are RAPE! You cant deny that. When your friend has the same coverage as you and pays a fraction of the cost you should start considering your options.

Well right now AT&T and Verizon cover a lot of people with their 4G either LTE or HSPA+. And I think that T-mobile purchasing MetroPCS will help a lot with their coverage.

Prepaid does not have the same coverage as postpaid. There is a reason why 300 million people have postpaid versus prepaid. And it all boils down to better phones and better coverage.

I am not going to argue that the postpaid carriers aren't raping people. Rich or Eric wrote an article about the subsidies in the U.S. and I totally agree with them. That is why I am hoping that what T-mobile is doing will spread to the other companies.

Prepaid is good if all you are doing is talking. But that is not me. I need my data. Why in the world someone would talk...
