Entire network probably wont happen this year. They have refarmed a large number of 2G spectrum in a lot of places I dont have the direct link for that information on this computer but when I get home I can link to that information that can be found on the Tmobile website.

I'm in Willimantic Connecticut right now, nothing but EDGE everywhere, same goes for Coventry Connecticut.

I can deal with it for a period of time, cause I don't live in thisarea, where I live theres solid HSPA+ ccoverage,

But in 2013, 2G shouldn't exist anywhere.

Check when you get home and get back to me.
Hopefully 2G won't exist in ALL of Connecticut by summer of 2014.

You must be traveling along Interstate 84. T-Mobile has EDGE in alot more places than that. If I had a dollar every time one of their phones jumped to EDGE I could buy the company.

Every single indication I've got from what I've read is that no, it will not be shut down, it has been minimalized, but no plans at all to shut it down.
