I wonder how many would buy a smartphone just for BBM though at this point. Maybe in certain markets like the UK or in corporate environments, but if you take the US market for example where Blackberry has been pounded I can see cross platform compatibility being nothing but a win.

The idea would be that after new hardware and a new OS, there would be fewer reasons to switch. Maybe I can eliminate sending text messages once and for all to all my IOS and Android friends.
