All I can say to that is that the difference in price between those plans which previously offered subsidized handsets, and the current ones that do not is pretty substantial. Non-subsidized rate plans for a family plan cost at least $20.00 per month less, most of the data feature costs are cut in half,as are text messaging features.

On an account with 5 lines, all of them unlimited talk + text + data, that can mean a $60 - $80 per month difference, on the newer plans.
