What the pro-government goons on this site don't understand is this legislation shouldn't be required in the first place. The fact that it is proves over reach by the government.

Patent issues and licensing issues are a govt issue no matter how you look at it. That may not be the only reason I know that a phone gets locked to a company but it's not the only.

Has NOTHING to do with copyright or licensing. My phone, my business. It would be like buying a PC locked into windows with no legal option to change it to Linux. Nonsense. It's your hardware.

But people have the right to choose what to buy...if you want to run Linux, do your research and don't buy a computer that can't run Linux.

And honestly, if you want to run Linux, it is really best to just build your own PC.
