Isn't android source code free to access to anyone?
Why doesn't Apple download the source code them self?
...
Android source code is but then Samsung takes it and modifies it to add features since Android it lacking a lot of features. Sounds like Google wants Samsung version of Android to compare against stock Android. Seems like they could look at open source version and compare, but I guess not.
...
Good point.
What I don't get is Android source code has more to do with Google, and nothing to do with Samsung!
...
Apple is afraid to take on Google directly, because Google is the one company on the planet that has the resources to make Apple's life miserable....like all bullies, Apple only wants to pick fights with those smaller than itself...
...
Apple wants to compare Samsung features to Google features in order to prove Samsung copied Apples features.
Apple should just give up and focus on small fries like HTC and Moto.
...
So what is Samsung did 'copy' Apple's features? Most of the stuff that Apple is bragging about existed before the iPhone and were common both on smartphones and PC's....
Apple apparently wants us to forget about the entire history of smartphones and mobile technology prior to 2007....
Many of those great features Apple is bragging about existed on Palm Treo smartphones...3-4 years before the iPhone....but Apple wants us to forget that Palm ever existed.....not to mention Windows Mobile...
If we really break it down, iOS 1.0 stole quite a bit from Palm, Blackberry and Windows Mobile....
The iPhone wasn't the first phone with an MP3 player, or the first phone with a web browser, or the first phone that you could sync with your P...

not true- more like the other way around. Apple has more cash than Google, and thus more resources.. Please state things you know.
...
If the market continues the way it has been going, that will change. Google's stock price has increased Significantly since last year while Apple's has not. Clearly google is gaining huge ground, and apple is not, and hopefully things continue this way.
...
That doesn't mean anything. Apple has more than $150 billion in cash. Google doesnt have close to that. Stock price is no indication of that. Again, just like Tbone, stick to what you know.
...
You're exaggerating, Apple's cash reserves are just under $100 billion....all of it in overseas banks which they can't tap into without it becoming subject to a corporate income tax...the moment they tap into it....half of it goes to Uncle Sam...that's why they don't touch it....and Apple's market valuation has declined by 80% in the last 8 months.....
Maybe you should stick to what you know
...
they can actually tap into it but because they moved it oversees they are looking for overseas acquisitions. So yes, they do have that money if they want but they have to pay taxes on.
secondly, they can issues bonds which they did earlier and will do to repay shareholders.
So again, Stick to selling phones while i address value.
Thanks
...
I don't see why overseas acquisitions would matter. I was refering to Apple and it's impact in North America, not outside of that continent.
Also, yeah. T-bone is 100% right, they have lost huge market share, and the company is valued less today than it had been previously, and I see that trend continuing.
...
Actually they have gained market share, but they have done so at the cost of their historically high profit margins, the iPad mini and the $50 'budget' iPhone have increased their sales, while lowering their margins....the result is that they are selling more than ever but earning less by doing so....profits are down 18% from this time last years....
In the meantime, Microsoft's profits are UP 19% over 2012...despite inflated claims that Windows 8 is a 'failure'....not that Microsoft matters in this discussion, I just think it is useful to compare Apple to another equally large corporation in the same business...
Apple has belatedly discovered the problems with the 'race to the bottom' that Windows OEM's have struggled with for years...

Actually, just looking over the numbers, it appears they have a small USA market share gain; however, overseas Samsung is doing better than Apple. Regardless, Apple has the cash to do very well domestically or overseas.
...
I wasn't referring to 'cash', if I meant ;'cash' I would have said 'cash'.....the fact that I didn't day 'cash' should be interpreted as meaning that I wasn't referring to 'cash'.
Besides which, all of Apple's cash reserves are in banks overseas, the moment they tap into them, they become subject to the American corporate income tax, which is the highest in the word....this is why Apple won't spend the money.
...
they have domestic cash actually and they could issue bonds...
as i mentioned earlier... they have a lot of resources and cash to them.
you make money you pay taxes that simple.
Apple doesnt have to spend the money- they can if they want to. but issuing bonds is cheaper.
