Thank God he wasn't in charge when ATT tried buying out Tmobile! I read on Engadget that this guy felt different about the merger than Genechowski did.

The part that really got me was this quote:

"I can attest to Tom's commitment to harness the power of communications technology to improve people's lives, to drive our global competitiveness, and to advance the public interest..." apparently Obama said that.

Really Mr.President? And how exactly can you attest to his harnessing power? And how did he personally improve anybody's life? Also, if he supported the AT&T merger, how is he advancing the public interest if that is clearly , very clearly, not what the public wanted?

Barak is a great public speaker but what he was saying in this case lacks substance.

"Appointing" individuals should not exist in any democratic society. Votes by the public should determine EVERYTHING.

This, I can most definitely agree with "Barak is a great public speaker but what he was saying in this case
lacks substance."

There is only one, singular reason he got reelected, cause he's cool.

I'm sure the comments about having binders of women and corporations being people didn't help.... Obama was re-elected because Romney was a toolbag.

"Tom will be a great FCC Chairman, and I urge his swift confirmation," said Genachowski. "I can attest to Tom's commitment to harness the power of communications technology to improve people's lives, to drive our global competitiveness, and to advance the public interest. The FCC's role has never been more essential, and with Tom's deep policy expertise and his first-hand experience as a technology investor, he is ...
