I've used iOS, Android, and now Windows 8. It's just as capable as the other two operating systems, and I'd say I like it the best of the three (even though I'm open-minded enough to say I like all three).

It's really bad for desktops and regular laptops, I'll give you that. Most people have their first Windows 8 experience on one of those and it spoils the rest of it for them. It's really a system best used with smartphones or tablets. You definitely need a touch screen to make the most of it.

But oh well. I just sit here, twiddling my thumbs and exclaiming with joy with every new major app release announced.

(Though I do have a Nexus 7 so I don't miss out on all those nice Android apps).

Who needs windows 8? Nobody!

Windows 7 is solid, solid, solid, through and through. It's the best microsoft operating system I have ever used, it is extremly stable, responsive, and does exactly what I want / need it to do. There is no reason to ever change away from Windows 7 on any Desktop / Laptop computer.

Yeah, seriously. Not upgrading my desktop or laptop. On the phones, though... Windows 7 ain't so good there. Microsoft tried, and failed, to make one OS for all devices.

Personally I prefer Linux Mint 13 running Cinnamon over Windows 7, but that't my personal preferences and my two cents.

Very true. If you don't have a touch screen or not planning on buying one, don't upgrade. If you're in the market for a Windows 8 laptop make sure it has touchscreen.

Personally, I love Windows 8 on my tablet. It does everything I want to do on a computer, plus it can be used like a tablet, when I want to web surf, look at media or play games. Yes, it has a learning curve, but it doesn't take long to get use to it and I don't even miss the start button.
