LTE - 3GB's/mo

I just don't understand what use there is for LTE when people are limited to a measly 3GB's/mo. High-speed data is primarily for video, which uses more data.

While I get your point evidence shows most people use less than 2Gs per month. And while it does help enormously with video playback it does also load pages much faster.

People use less than 2GB's/mo cause they don't know HOW to use their smartphone!
Either that, or their rich enough to pay for internet twice (from their cable company also).

Paying for internet once is enough for me.

TBH, the most data I've ever used was 4GB back when unlimited was truly unlimited with them. I usually just check out YouTube for a few videos, check email every so often and Facebook.

All carriers who throttle and/or have a data cap are a joke though.

Would like to know why you think throttling makes them a joke. Capping I agree but not so much on the other.

Throttling to where you can barely even use the phone is a little dramatic. I'd prefer to be throttled at about half the speed I'd normally get, but to throttle it down to worse than 28.8K speeds is ridiculous since I'm paying for unlimited data.

That is true but at least with att you're supposed to be only taken down to 3g which still sucks could be worse

3G is actually really great in my area, I get around 6Mb/son HSPS+ (which is 3.5G lol, but when I had my iPhone 4, it would get 4-5Mbps, but when I was throttled it was awful. Barely pushing .02Kbps. LTE is phenomenal in my area though. I was getting around 50Mbps

While I'll agree that most don't know how to use their phone to it's full extent, I don't think it would be a good thing for everyone to start watching streaming video on their phone just because of the congestion it would cause. And as for paying twice, sure being poor wouldn't help but if paying an extra $40 per month is that big a hassle maybe you need to cut back in other areas.

Exactly, i pay $35/mo to CenturyLink for 40/5 VDSL and i locked the price for a year, if i could not afford that then maybe i need to look at going out a little less.

I just keep T-Mobile for my main line (we pay ~55 each phone) with unlimited data, but i use less than 10GB each month with my streaming, but offload as much as i can on WiFi since it does help the network overall (and other customers around me)

Home internet can be had really cheap for ~3-5Mbps and that's enough to stream HD on as long as you're not doing a bunch of downloads at the same time.

5GB on LTE
2GB on 3G.
These only apply if you are on the unlimited plan.

I like LTE on my phone because it loads pages faster and I can through my RSS feed faster.
I use my smartphone for RSS feeds, some random (non-internet) games, and calling and texting that is all I need it to do. If I want to watch video I'll use my laptop or tv because they have bigger screens.

I personally don't see how by not watching videos on my phone is not using my phone to is fulling potential, and if that is what using my phone to it's fullest potential than count me out. I rather use my phone to read information, and comment on the go. If I find a video I like I'll bookmark it so I can watch it later on a bigger screen.

I use less than 3 GB but I don't get mad at people who use less. Also AT&T can only calculate what the u...

From his prior posts, Jay self admittedly works as a security guard and uses his phone to view porn. Take that for what you will...
