Dish is trying to pull a fast one. Investors like the Dish offer since it is $25.5 billion instead of $20 billion... Starting to get interesting. I dont know much about Softbank, but reading from other previous post Dish sounds like a bad thing for Sprint.

Atleast another major us carrier is not buying them out and not a foreign investor (unless dish is owned by someone foreign ) I mean if they screw themselves in the end there is always us cellular that could run the business much better than sprint. That is if they tank and us cellular could pull enough together to pull it off..

I have no problem with Dish wanting to buy Sprint, or trying to match or up the bid against Softbank. I do have an issue with Dish running to the government to try and stop or slow down the deal. This should be entierly up to the shareholders of Sprint and Softbank.

While I don't use Sprint, nor in the near future thinking of using them, Softbank in the end would do a far better job turning Sprint around and providing a far better path to make them viable. Which is better for all of us.

In some ways, Sprint really can't complain and should learn, don't cry to the government when something occurs that you don't like. And it should end here, and not look back. Let this merger or buy in or whatever you want to call it occur with Sof...

Well I see your point on that. I guess people are looking at it kinda like this they are think that a US company would be better to own it than someone with foreign interests. I mean the government overseas all this stuff as far regulations and such and more people may want a US based company to continue in place of shipping the money off overseas. I don't think they are necessarily crying to the government but they should have put there offer on the table sooner rather than later and who knows what the board of sprint will do in the end anyways...

TO BE CONTINUED... ahahaha.

The mobile industry has turned into some kind of "soap" opera for me. I laugh and amazed at a lot of things happening since "4G" became the new thing.

personally I think they should stay w/ Softbank anyways. I read that Dish is having to take a 10 Billion loan to make it happen. So you start off in debt. I think the offer was just another ploy to slow the deal in turn slowing the Clear purchase. "We'll 25 Billion" "sprint "Ok, deal" Dish "JK!"

None of these companies that end up buying out others have enough cash to do something like that.... 25.5 Billion Dollars I mean that's alot of $$$$$ Hell atleast they have 10 billion cash that goes to show you they are doing something right a company that has 10 billion to spend wow that say's quite a bit in itself. I am kinda getting tired of all the foreign companies that are taking over everything we own.. (People will realize this one day after it's too late) sure they do help us but they are looking ways to trim jobs and such all the time so time will tell and likely there will be less jobs....

Libtard,
Point well taken, look what happened when AT&T tried to repatrate TMO to US ownership?? I agree would much prefer a viable US company take them over. As far as cash on hand, I don't really believe they have that much lying around, they may have some line of credit. Two me Dish taking over Sprint is like putting to medicore companies with medicore managment togeather. Sprint needs a take over who will clean their clock, improve their service and make themselves viable.

Sprint right now is in such a mess they clearly need something for they keep shooting themselves in the foot. You are right Sprint needs their clocked cleaned and then some all management should be shown the door. Ohh what a tangled web we weave. The government should step in and save Sprint from themselves by finding the best suitable match to buy them out. If they could stop ATT from buying Tmo then they could step in here as well.

Actually, yes. It's totally different than the AT&T - Tmobile deal.

There are ZERO anti-trust concerns with this deal.

Well said Cell.

There are some dumb people on this site, first saying Sprint is crying to govt. about Dish (believe Sprint wouldn't mind a bidding war) and then saying ATT/TMO deal is the same as this.
