I've been using T-Mobile since 2006 (While working for Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint) and i can say i've never had any issues with T-Mobile and i drive cross country a few times a year.

I can count the number of dropped calls i've had on T-Mobile on my fingers in the years i've had them, and their HSPA+ data is consistently faster than my Verizon LTE (provided) work phone (not to mention in Phoenix, i drop way more calls on Verizon than on T-Mobile!)

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with T-Mobile, but that's just not the case for most that use it.
