Netboy: And other carriers charge more a month because it absorbs the price for having a subsidized phone.

That is like saying...I rather pay $100/mo with no equipment installment (and then when I am out of contract, I will still pay $100 mo, even before I upgrade my phone) instead of paying let's say $70 month (with unlimited data) + $20 monthly installment until I pay the phone off...Do the math there..

In addition, if someone paid $199 for the Iphone for T-Mobile (instead of the asking price of $99), then in reality, it would shorten the amount of installment months needed. In any case, if someone paid extra for the phone installment, it would shorten the months they would have to pay it, but if you were under contract and paid extra on your bill with another carrier, it does not shorten the time left in contract...

So to me, while I am not the biggest fan of T-Mobile's current network, their method of pricing and no contract seems a lot more fair for the consumer. It requires people to be able to adapt to something that is different. But some people do refuse to change, always assuming that their older way is always better
