Well I can not use my phone at work. I can access my vz account and send out the text messages. I can not receive incoming messages on it. I went to FAQs and can not get an answer. I want to be able to text from my pc at work lol. That is all. I will figure it out when I get home.

Why would you use a Mac? Why pay twice as much for the same thing with a PC?

It depends very much on the specific make and model....the last time I was in the market for a laptop I compared prices and for the specific set of specs I wanted, I bought a Macbook Pro because it was cheaper than an equivalent build by Alienware, which is what I was looking at initially.

Well yes. Alienware and Mac you are paying for the name. But you can get an equally spec'ed Dell(which owns Alienware btw) and it would be half the price. And computer components are a commodity now and they are all pretty much the same if you buy it from Dell or HP or Acer, or Apple.

Well to me it is simple..I like the Mac's OS better than Windows. Therefore, I bought a Mac

People have their own preferences, there's really no point in trying to force your own on to others...

I don't think there's any significant difference between a Ford and a Chevy, but some people are pretty intense in their preferences...

I just don't understand someone's preference to spend more money on the same thing. That is like spending $100,00 on a Toyota Camry versus $50,000 on a Honda Accord. It would make sense there are preferences if they were the same prices but they are not.

Well, I really do not feel like I need to justify to you why I like Mac OS over Windows. To say that they are the same is just silly and inaccurate. If you like PCs better and feel like they are a better value for you, that is fine...I do not really care. I do not really even care to convince you that you should like a Mac (as I think it is all about your personal choice)...

I just originally mentioned Macs as a joke, because Macs had become very popular in recent years. But in no way am I interested in debating or justifying why I personally use a Mac. If you can not realize that some people just prefer them, then that is sad.

Obviously you prefer them because you are a sheep.

Really DarkStar, if I prefer Mac OS, I must be a "sheep"?...I also prefer Android phones over the Iphone. (But in both cases, I do not hate Windows 8 or the Iphone) So does that fit into your category of being a "sheep"?

Do not try to start needless arguments with me for no reason, or try to insult me unnecessarily..Typical example of someone just trying to cause conflict for no reason..

Relevant username is relevant haha.

Fanboy-ism needs to die. I remember back in 2006 when the new gen of videogame consoles were coming out and fanboys were rampant. Now...no one really cares. I feel like we've gotten to a point in tech where are informed enough to just buy something they like and not pester others.

On the other hand, maybe it's just because I've removed myself from most of those sources of fanboy-ism.

Yeah I wouldn't buy a Dell unless I was so poor I couldn't afford to buy anything else. And thankfully i am doing well enough right now that I don't have to buy cheap.

You do realize that they all use the same parts. The difference is that Apple bundles in their customer service. With PC manufacterers they are bundled out so you have to add that in yourselves. You have the choice of getting a cheapo computer or you can get a great computer with lots of customer service.

They might be the same parts but that doesn't mean that the build is as good. You can use the same parts to build a really flimsy car and to build a really sturdy one.

Bottom line is that computers are not cheap, and if you want quality you have to pay for it,

If Dell was so horrible then they would be out of business. They must be doing something right to still be #2 in the industry.

I agree...I must be missing something....if you have a phone, you can send and receive text messages from the phone....but Verizon is now offering the option to check text messages online...

I don't understand what that has to do with the particular platform you're using......

And I stupid? What am I missing here?
