I work for T-Mo, and this guy is right. The Note 2 with an equipment subsidy is $420 in corporate stores. The $300 price is a down payment, which means you still owe another $20 per month for $20 months. If you move to prepaid, even if they don't tell you to return the equipment and cancel because you're still in the 14 day return policy, you would owe the $200 termination fee, plus another $400(20x20=400). Which means you paid $300 down, plus $200 termination fee, plus $400 for what you still owe on the phone--and T-Mobile will have signatures proving that you accepted all of that. So you're out $900 because you think you're smart.

And like someone else said, rebates take 6-8 weeks to process. If you cancel the line, you don't get it.
