In regards to the battery wallet, etc.

On your page regarding the phone call capability, if you were to rip the front flap of the battery wallet off and something were to happen to it, you would not be able to get it replaced. Most techs will claim this as physical damage. So, if this is something you are looking to do, just keep in mind that you may have to take responsibility and buy a replacement battery wallet if yours fails.

Also, in regards to the info sticker on the phone. I'm sure everyone will take this off. I would too, but please, please stick it to the battery side of the wallet. This way if your screen breaks and you need to get it serviced, the tech will still be able to scan the serial number on the sticker to be able to work on it.

...There is a full sticker with the ESN which can be seen as soon as a tech opens up the phone. That is the procedure. Telling people to keep on that SHIPPING sticker is absurd.

ok, when a customer goes to a non-tech store (also formerly known as "advanced exchange store") with a broken screen and a missing sticker, what will they be told? Go somewhere else. Go to a tech store. When the nearest tech store is more than just a quick drive away, who's going to be yelled at? The rep. Why? because if they had the damn sticker they would be taken care of. So that's why i wrote that, and that is why I do know what I'm talking about.

Hey, if you want to toss the sticker, and cut up your wallet, that's fine, it makes sense. But when something goes wrong with it, don't expect to go to any old store and get it swapped out or fixed. That's my word of wisdom for all the little kiddies out there.

The M620 is not difficult to open. There are four tscrews on the sides. like i said, the procedure is for the tech to open up the two sides, in which case he would find the same sprint sticker that is under the batteries on all their other phones.

thanks, i'm so glad you are able to see the four little screws on the casing. (FCC requires the serial number and other information to be viewed on the phone without having it able to be powered up, so duh, I know it's there)

My whole freaking point is that there are more non-tech stores than tech stores. So for those people (the majority) that go to a non-tech store on a regular basis. They will be told to drive even further (in my area, it's at least a half hour drive to the nearest tech) so that the tech can open the phone to see the sticker. When if they had the sticker, they would most likely be able to have a DHRP or advanced exchange ordered.

What do regular reps do to scan in the phone for an exchange? Most reps aren't going to...

with all due respect, if the customer has a phone with a broken display, he or she shouldn't be going to an express store without a tech.

Now, putting that sticker on the battery wallet, or just putting it on the box wouldn't hurt at all, i just disagree with leaving it on the phone, like some people are suggesting.

There are four ways to find the ESN #. First, on the original box. Second, on the phone on a sticker - lame. Third, go to Main Menu, Settings, Phone Info, Phone Label. Fourth, punch in ##376#. That should also tell you. I work in the cellular industry and had to find out this the hard way.
