I think I actually want the Q10...but I'm wondering what the no commitment price is going to be?
I got an email from Blackberry last week promoting unlocked Z10 for $749.....there's absolutely no way I'd pay that for a phone....I'm assuming no commitment on a locked phone from at&t would be cheaper...

Hey T-bone,
Not sure if you remember me but I am Nextel18. Itβs been a while I see. The no contract price really depends per carrier and the volume and deal they sign up. I know that the Z10βs no commitment price is in the 699 range but in Canada its 599. So it differs. As for the Q10 it should be around the similar price, talking to some contacts from RIMM. Of course, I wonβt comment further.

Sorry, I don't remember anybody called 'Nextel18'......doesn't mean I won't recognize your posting style, I'm terrible with names...

No worries. I used to post in 2011. Had to stop due to a lot of activities in my life.
...
I remember you. I seem to remember you as posting before T Bone.

T-Bone,
At $749 you're better of signing and paying the ETF then paying for the device outright, and not by a few bucks. Like by about $225 plus sales tax differences.
...
It depends what the ETF is; however, I believe you are on point here. He is going to be basically paying:
1. ETF (up to $200)
2. Z10 of $199-$250 with 2 year contract.
3. up front fees ($35)
$200+ 250+35= $485+ tax. (let's say $500)
Therefore, He is saving $249 if that $749 price is correct. Although, on AT&T's splash page it says "month to month" is $549.99. So he would still save $50.
...
Considering most high end phones with AT&T are in the $200.00 and the ETF for AT&T typically starts between $325-350. You're looking at most $550 which is still cheaper than the unlocked but just because you cancel doesn't mean we'll unlock your phone right away.
...
That actually depends on the ETF- on basic phones its much less($150), while on smartphones, It starts at $325. Both decrease $5 and $10 per month.
We also don't know where he has wireless service. Many carriers differ in that aspect.

I'm with at&t which is kind of why I asked what the no commitment price for the at&t version was... π

Do not know noncontract price yet - the device is not yet on our lineup.

It has been actually π
...
yea. It should be $549 as indicated on the website. You may want to purchase the phone at the $549 if you wish by selecting that option. This differs per carrier fyi.
