Verizon Announces New Unlimited Data Pricing, Treo 650
data plane high
Of course, these are only three companies I know of. I'm not sure who else offers wireless internet for those internetty cards.
Of course, Verizon's got cooler commercials...
But T-Mobile's spokesperson is hotter....
And Sprint's got alot of camera flip-phones...
And Nextel...... well Nextel isn't that cool. But their phones "chirp".
😛
It's 24.99/month on STANDARD phones only...
I dunno all that much about the lap-top cards and what-not, but if the comparison is the same as on the phones except with identical prices, I choose the better service.
Or the one with the hotter spokesperson.... But in that case, both lose! 😳
This is so you can get full internet access on your computer from anywhere verizon has digital service, with an card that sticks into your computer. This service is for laptops mostly.
The kind you access from your phone or PDA is 49.99 unlimited from the national service area.
As to UMTS, that's a whole new network switchout, without backward compatibility. I like to tell my customers that if they don't think Verizon Wireless has the best network technology, just ask our competitors - they're starting to switch to it (UMTS, as we all know, is just another name for wideband CDMA)!
It's the innovations within the thinking minds of CDMA that makes it appealing to cost-conscious cell companies.

It's also been proven that CDMA is backwards compatible with the Qualcomm 4 CODECs. To increase network capacity and efficiency, TDMA-based technology (i.e., GSM) is forced to build new base-stations and create special networks to support packet-switching based data transfers.

Then why are sales and earnings down with Qualcomm? Ericsson, Moto, Nokia all posted strong quarters, but Qualcomm's numbers are down, and they are ranking pretty low in customer service according to a few recent articles.
$24.99mo is for Media Net which is for NON SMARTPHONE handsets ONLY
For Smartphones and PDA's there is a feature called PDA Connect. It's 29.99 for 5mb and 39.99 for unlimited
For Laptops and Desktops there is Data Connect. This is where the the 29.99-79.99 price is for unlimited. Not on a smart phone. This is for PC access and not anything else.
now eventhough media net is only for handsets... it can be used otherwise. It still connects to the EDGE network. It's just the browser on the phones is a WAP browser and not a full html browser like internet explorer or firefox. but that doesnt mean you can't use your media net on your phone, tether it to your laptop and use the con...

CDMA has a MUCH MUCH larger alottment of spectrum that GSM does in the US. The reason some say that they are moving to CDMA is because the range of frequencies that are used are closer to those of CDMA. GSM has a relitively small range that they are allowed to use by the FCC, and as GSM technoligies develop and reach the extent of their spectrum, the carriers will eventually have to switch to CDMA to continue developing better networks, and higher data speeds. Thats why people say that sky is the limit with CDMA. Because they have so much unused spectrum that they can continue to grow into the future and not have to worry about frequencey limitations.
Why do you think Cingular decided...

Oh...and Cingular charges $79.99 for the same service that Verizon is now charging $59.99 for
The Unlimited PDA plan for Cingular's Treo 650 is 44.99. Plus with a Voice Plan, you also get a discount on the Data.
Cingular Unlimited Data on Treo 650 is 44.99.
Verizon's Unlimited Data on Treo 650 is 59.99.
Want to run that statement by me again?
Also, EDGE and 1xRTT are pretty much the same in terms of speed and there is more EDGE on Cingular's network than there is 1xRTT on Verizon's.

Um.. Wrong
They can choose from 10 MB per month for $29.99 or unlimited data for $49.99. Verizon will not offer separate pricing for 1xRTT or 1X EV-DO data on these devices. Subscribers with a voice plan of $39.99 or higher will receive a $5 discount per month off
I have a PDA with Verizon and I pay $44.99 for my unlimited access.

You should do alittle research before u post something that makes you look dumb. Cingular and VZW is the same price for data service. EDGE does avg alittle faster than 1xRTT, but 1xEVDO will blow EDGE away. 1xRTT and 1xEVDO is the same price on PDA phones. Unlimited $49.99 w/o voice plan or $44.99 w/$39.99+ voice plan. $59.99 is for 1xRTT PC Card service which avg 60-80 kbps w/burst up to 144kbps.
Funny, I was responding to someone else who posted bad info on Cingular's pricing, but you weren't calling them dumb. So do us a favor and shut that hole you call a mouth. I have no use for your childish insults.
I was actually quoting the other guy's posted prices. I figured he knew what he w...

"Your"? 🙄
It's "YOU'RE". Unbeknownst to you, it's called a contraction. In the English language, it is used to combine two words. In this case the words are "you" and "are".
Didn't know that?
That would make YOU an illiterate. Learn to spell before you try to insult me.

Talk about a great show. I own the first season on DVD.
PC Cards $79.99 unlimited
most smart phones can use $24.99 media net. 🙂
It really is amazing that we have the same 3 gateways or pipelines available and marketed 3 different ways. It is all just access to wireless web for browsing or data transfer. I think all the carriers could do a better job of selling data. So ma...

TMobile unlimited internet, 19.99. We don't care if you tether, we have agent training to help explain to customers how to tether their phones. We don't cut you off for "too much" usage, that's why it's called "unlimited." Add unlimited WiFi HotSpot for 19.99 to an existing voice plan for more and faster access, again unlimited. If you want to sit all day in Starbuck's downloading porno movies, we're totally okay with that... 😳
