Verizon Finalizes Several 700MHz Spectrum Sales
$9.4 billion spent on 700mhz licenses, just to sell a few?
Can someone enlighten me as to the logic of spending $9.4 billion on something just to sell it???

Ummm... they didn't. Verizon still holds the majority of its 700 MHz spectrum. They're just selling off blocks of spectrum that would create a conflict in markets where they bought AWS spectrum from that cable company consortium. This was required by the FCC for them to get approval to buy the spectrum. Why do I get the feeling you didn't read the article?
