I Just Can't Get Excited About This One.
Android is highly versatile and there is enough variety in hardware and manufactures that a buyer doesn't feel pigron holed. If you do choose to go this way your variety of hardware is reduced to 2 choices. Yes, I am aware that Apple only has one choice other than color, memory and generation but to be fair, Apple is different, PLUS they offer an entire eco system that the iSheep cuddle up with at night like a child's security blanket that BB doesnt offer.

There is a big difference between the two terms "market share" and "profitability".
You can very much have a small share of a market and be profitable if the company behind it is efficient which is something Blackberry has been working on behind the scenes for a couple of years. They have been cutting the fat for a while now and are no longer the bloated company they were.

The only product they offer where they have no real competition is the iPod...they have effectively eliminated all competition in the Mp3 player market....the Mac only has about 10% market share worldwide (and even then, surveys reveal that 80% of Mac owners run Windows, either in a virtual machine on a Mac or on a separate computer)...at launch the iPad had more than 90% market share in tablets, but in the last 3 years their share has dropped to just over 50% and within a year or two will probably be around 20-39%....the iPhone only has about 20% market share in smartphones, while Android has 68%
