BlackBerry to Update BB10 Android Runtime to Jelly Bean

i mean this is better right? bc most apps on android can be coneverted to BB apps by their developers.. any input on this?

This could prove to be good for BlackBerry. But, doesn't this just solidify Android as being the end all solution for mobile? In my opinion, this is like BlackBerry saying, we can't beat them, so lets find ways to use their apps, instead of actually promoting developers to develop for their OS. I don't like the idea that everything seems to have to revolve around Android or iOS. Just my thought.

i understand your point, but for me if this will be better. i mean if the apps will not freeze or force close this will be teh best OS on the market now.

88 if the BB10 will work like the the OS that i am using on my playbook. 🙂

Blackberry already has a really strong selling point for developers, namely that Blackberry apps generate more average revenue per app than any other platform, the average revenue generated by a Blackberry app is over $9000, compared to only around $6000 for Apple and $1200 for Google....

A couple of points.

First, Android is a derivative work of Linux. And BB10 is a derivative work of Android, much like Ubuntu is a derivative work of Debian. So, really what you're starting to see is the emergence of a strong Linux ecosystem in the Smart Phone world. But not many people would argue that this is a bad thing. Good points. When I think about it, it would be nice to be able to carry over apps to whatever mobile OS or device you fancy, at the time. Not being able to do that does keep people tied to any one particular OS, if they've spent tons of money on apps and games.
