RIM is not presently losing customers, they are GAINING them, there are more Blackberry users today than there were a year ago, and their profits are up also.
I'm not going to claim that everything on the Goodship Blackberry is hunky dorey, certainly it is not as good as 2007, but it is nowhere near as bad as the media like to claim. RIM has enough cash reserves built up that they could take losses every quarter for the next 5 years without running out of money. And 5 years should be enough time to turn things around.
I hang around on Blackberry forums like Crackberry.com and whatnot and I can tell you there are a large, very large contingent of Blackberry fans who have been holding off on upgrading for a year or longer,....you can expect that the instant these phones become available that a large number of these users will immediately upgrade.
