I disagree somewhat.
If this phone had been out a year ago, you would have been looking at few apps and more bugs in the OS. It wasn't ready then.
The old regime would have released this phone earlier. The new one seems to be willing to hold in the reigns a bit and release when ready.
Apple has had a recent top end management shakeup addressing this very type of problem. If you release based on a timetable and not product readiness, it hurts no matter who you are.
