BlackBerry 10 to Reach U.S. Stores in March
I have a sneaky suspicion

It will fail if the app store isnt up to par at launch. I think thats whats hurting Windows 8 phones now but that could destroy BB. The platform may be great...but if no ones making apps for them or there not that good..then its good night Gracie!
From my understanding there may be 70,000 apps so they are being built and ported over in great numbers.
As I know from having a couple of iPads around here, having a massive amount of apps to choose from isn't all it's cracked up to be either. There is lots of garbage to sort through to get the right ones.
I guess we will see.

You sound very optimistic about this new system and device. Are you going to get one?
Yes, I want to try it out. I think there may be pent up demand for Blackberries at least from those that have them. Few people in their right mind would have gotten them in the last year because they knew these devices were coming out.
Biggest bonehead move RIM did was announce these phones a couple of years ago and not deliver. I think they felt they had to because they knew the market had changed.
Apple rarely announces anything until it's almost ready.

That this phone will do worse than we suspect. I wish it would have come out about a year or so ago. I think it is to late for Rim.
I disagree somewhat.
If this phone had been out a year ago, you would have been looking at few apps and more bugs in the OS. It wasn't ready then.
The old regime would have released this phone earlier. The new one seems to be willing to hold in the reigns a bit and release when ready.
Apple has had a recent top end management shakeup addressing this very type of problem. If you release based on a timetable and not product readiness, it hurts no matter who you are.
They will be just like the greatest company's of it's day. Lived on a platform that is outdated and refused to innovate at the right time. What happen to nokia, what happen to kodak, to little to late. Look how long it has take...

They completely lost most of the US market share due to the explosion of two other platforms.
Take a look at whet is happening at Apple though. IOS has been around since 2007 and risks getting stale. Yes, it gets regular updates every year or so, but if you were using IOS in 2007, you know how to use it now. It's stock has been killed lately. I am already seeing "rise and fall of apple" articles.
Android may have an even bigger issue to deal with. I see this big empire built that Google never made any money off of and a situation similar to what windows desktops have been dealing with. They may not ever be able to do a total rewrite o...

I'm not going to claim that everything on the Goodship Blackberry is hunky dorey, certainly it is not as good as 2007, but it is nowhere near as bad as the media like to claim. RIM has enough cash reserves built up that they could take losses every quarter for the next 5 years without running out of money. And 5 years should be enough time to turn things around.
I hang around on Blackberry forums like Crackberry.com and whatnot and I can tell you there are a large, very large contingent of Blackberry fans who have been holding off on upgrading for a year or longer,....you can e...
