Desire to know video specifications

Does anyone know video capabilities? I need a phone capable of playing Windows Media files (version 10). I have need to refer to videos on a media card, but want to get down to a single phone/pda combination device.

Main need is video playback and phone usage.

The nice thing about a smartphone (like this) is that you can always add software, such as alternate video players, if it doesn't support what you need out-of-the-box.

I'm not sure off-hand if there is a video player for Series 60 yet that supports WMv10, but I imagine there will be sooner or later.

Plus Nokia recently announced a new initiative to support Windows Media file formats in its phones going forward, so it may even do what you need out-of-the-box.

I hope more phones support WMv10 since that version is now the current release on desktop. Another reason is, Microsoft Photo Story 3 (** FREE **) lets once create video for such devices.

Users can take family photos, make a "Photo Story" and have such files with them anywhere they travel.

They alternative might be provide phone owners the tools to convert Microsoft media files so they play on their devices in
