Re: And this helps the consumer how???........
Most customers only used less than 2 GB...I know b/c I work in the industry. Very few if any used more than that except "power users"
When smart phones first came out it had internet but the culture was not mainstream as it is today. Before, most people used the internet on a computer. Now...the culture has changed and most people are using laptops and smart phones for internet. When cell phones came out initially they were designed for making phone calls because that was cell-phones are in their name cellular....
Ask your self this.....Would you rather watch a movie on a tablet/laptop....or phone?...
Almost all would say the first one because of the size of the screen and color quality. Now its great the phones can watch movies and TV shows but that not the original intent.
Period.
