I think what he is really trying to say is that some cellular companies need to start focusing on the more important things first. COVERAGE and VOICE quality.

They all need to follow verizons lead and focus on voice. Period!!

I think this is a good start. Location services are important for lots of things especially in cases of emergencies but why not use the technology for personal purposes as well if its already there. I have called Sprint Directory Assistance a few times to get the location of a nearby restaurant but hated when they asked where I was specifically located and all I could tell them was on a highway going in w/e direction and they still couldnt help or the one time we got off the wrong exit and needed assitance on getting back on track. They tried there best to help but it just wasn't good enough. If this location service works well it will have a great advantage for people who need it wether it be constant or occasionally. We need to see GPS be ...

Haha! I love it when people brag about Verizon being the best and everyone else being soooo subpar. The four states I travel most have terrible Verizon coverage (my work phone) meaning half the features don't work when I'm travelling. My personal cell phone (on Sprint) works much better for the four-state area I travel.

Verizon has better ADVERTISING than Sprint, but that's pretty much all. Verizon has a lot of coverage, but a lot of it is roaming and a mis-mash of technologies so stuff doesn't work right everywhere you go. Their plans are also generally more expensive when compared to Sprint. Ever heard of the Sprint $10 roaming package? It will get you more coverage than any Verizon plan and would still cost less!

I'm not saying Veri...

I tried Sprint..they sux (area dependent again)but I live in Seattle. Went into the local mall with my new sprint phone. searching for service searching for service, ported my number right back to verizon. So everybody has a story brah. When I put my verizon phone in my pocket of confident it has bars and will ring. Thats hard to beat!

compare verizon vs sprint in many aspects sprint leads. ie.. arpu, data arpu, and lifetime revenue per user. when sprint/nextel merges they will lead in every category but churn (by a few basis points probably) and total subscribers. (or maybe not becuase they could be ouptpacing verizon like they did in quarter 1.)

they need to follow on verizon? well they are. they got 1.3 million for the quarter while verizon got 1.65 million for the quarter. they are doing quite well.

by the way their data arpu is the highiest in the industry while the arpu is 2nd best behind nextel. so that would be good. they are doing very well with coverage and voice quality or else they wouldnt be signing on subscribers and getting very good data and arpu levels.

they been doing extremly well. since nextel/sprint merger they got 1.89 million to 2.1 million subscribers if you include boost mobile to those numbers. (2.1 means including boost, 1.89 isnt) so you can see combined nextel/sprint are doing better then verizon for the 1st quarter.

looks pretty good to me.

Sounds like you had a bad phone, or didn't change your settings on the phone.
Did you bring your phone in and have an tech check it out to make sure it wasn't defective and that you didn't mess up the settings?

I went back to the Sprint store, and stood around for 35 min before someone could help me. I told them my problem and they said to leave the phone here and come back in three hours.I was like wtf, leave my phone and come back.It was just to getto for me. Being a prior verizon customer I knew this was absurd.
I went two blocks down, back into the verizon store, and just like good old verizon had someone immediately ask me what can we do for you. If your phone has any problems within the first year verizon will just swap you out and five min your back in service.Thats without insurance to bout. Hard to beat!

"I told them my problem and they said to leave the phone here and come back in three hours."

thats what it takes sometimes. they dont know the damage of the phone and they have to do some diagnostic tests. thats what happens.

you think they will just put it up to a system and say done thats it here is a new phone or whatever? of course not, thats not how things work.

i am getting dizzy again? hahaha.

do i own a business? actually yea. the phone business, plus i do consult work and others for nextel. i own property and stocks as well, so lets just say i am doing great for a 21 year old.

i cant live without a phone too, but if i have my phones fixed, i have another phone to back me up. thats what you should have done. you say you have and know about business, so you would also know that you should always have a backup plan. you dont have a phone so what do you do? 1. you get a backup phone. maybe a prepaid phone till that phone gets fixed.

i had a problem with a t1 line on a cell site near me and it gave some problems, so i got a prepaid phone for that few weeks and that was it. it was fixed th...

Wait in line for 19 minutes? That's unacceptable! My waiter won't be back with my water for 7 minutes? That's unacceptable! Geeze, man...you'd think that as we've improved how we live, we'd learn the patience that goes along with living our better lives. So you had to deal without your phone for 3 hrs? So what? It had to be fixed. Suck it up.

I can understand the cool phone craving. Its terrible.. I have woke up dreaming about a certain phone. For now I will sit back with my LG 6100 (boring but extremly relibable phone) and watch technology progress. I have jumped ship two many times and have been sorry.

Good luck with your cravings, if they are anyting like mine they will never end. 😁

I have a Sprint phone, my daughter has a Verizon phone. There is nowhere in Seattle she can talk where I can't but there are places where her call is chopped and mine is not. The signal is inconsistent at Dash Point but that is to be expected. All in all Sprint in Seattle is great. In Portland it is great and in Eugene it is great. In the last year Sprint went on a tower building binge to go along with the Qwest sites they bought. Coverage in the Northwest has doubled in the last year.

i liked sprint before, just not their CS and billing. i left on neutral terms, not exactly on a negative note.

becuase with nextel's great mgmt they can turn around some negative problems that sprint has been facing with customer care and things like that.

also as a combined entity they can do more then if they were seperate.

Actually you'd go on and on about how Sprint sucked in every conceivable manner. Do you think people just forget what you post?

Said the very, very hopeful boy. Fact is, none of us know how well this merger will go...or if it'll pan out at all. If could be a disaster...or it could end up being beneficial to both parties. Time will tell. Let's quit with the "I see all" schtick.

My wife still had here verizon phone (cause Im the only ship jumper)and she was trying to call me in Jcpenny and couldnt get me. She finally found me and I looked at my phone. (searching for signal) that was that. Back to verizon.
