I don't agree with that, totally. A lot of people will not adopt Windows Phone, because Google will not develop apps for it. It's not that people aren't willing to switch, they enjoy using Google apps, and unfortunately, Google realizes this. Why not help keep the mobile environment a duopoly. People should want more variety to choose from. Windows Phone 8 is a great OS. Yes, it needs improvements in some areas, but it's a far cry from an OS that no one wants. Also understand, some features that have been touted with their new OS, have been available on Windows Phone since the WP 7.5 update.

Apps are the key for Windows Phone, not the OS itself.
