Actually, this is what both Sony and Ericsson did I believe.
I'm pretty sure they were both going to scrap the whole cell phone thing, but instead went into a joint venture to create Sony Ericsson. I don't know about you, but I'm glad they did! I'm all about Sony Ericsson. My first one was a T68i, then a T610, T637, and now an S710a. I've also used an Ericsson R520, Sony Ericsson P800 and P910.
