Common sense

doesn't apply anymore. Why not disable the feature when the unlimited users hit their throttle point? Data is almost useless when you get throttled so you can't do anything anyways. They get throttled at 3GB on 3G/fake 4G and 5GB on LTE.

How did you manage that? Were you grandfathered in from an older plan?

Yep! Been with Verizon since March 2010, had the
original Motorola Droid, currently have the
Samsung Droid Charge, and want to get the
Galaxy S4 when it comes out in May/June.

Be prepared to pay full retail for the S4 or lose your unlimited data.

Next weeks paycheck will have 64hrs, and the week after that 68hrs, so hopefully I can set aside $400 towards the S4.

Hopefully this time Samsung will get their production act together and a ---64GB--- S4 will ACTUALLY exist in the REAL world preferably before the END of the year!!!

The sad thing about is, those of us who are grandfathered in, still come out better, when you compare the current LTE data plans for 5gigs.

True, I'm still with my grandfathered plan, don't think I'll ever switch to those plans because they don't benefit me at all.

You do know that HSPA+ is a 4G technology. Yes we all know that LTE is better. And AT&T is starting to get more places with LTE.

But HSPA+ is not counted towards the 5GB allowance while on the unlimited plan, it will be counted towards the 3GB allowance under 3G. I wasn't too impressed with LTE in Los Angeles though, it was no better than their 3G service, which was pretty terrible there as well. I was even having problems with the service working even with 5 bars on LTE. There was only one time where it spiked to 20+MBps, and then it took a nose dive and was getting less than .5kbps both up and down. Hopefully that gets cleared up as they expand though.

Neither LTE nor HSPA+ is a 4G technology. Only LTE Advanced has been certified as 4G. Just because the carriers serve the koolaid doesn't mean you have to drink it.
