Nothing is a for sure thing especially in the mobile market. It defiantly is gonna be interesting to watch play out at least.

Yeah, definitely dirty move by Dish tho. I wonder what Clear plans to do with that spectrum? o.o

It's business. Just because Sprint made an official bid, doesn't mean that other companies can't bid, too. It is a bid, after all. Which means, it's open to any company that is able and willing to put up the money.
This is will only work out better for the share holders. Now that there's another bid on the table, both have to make their offers as attractive as possible to the share holders. Now, as for the consumers, that's a different story. This will ultimately depend on the shareholders, too. IF, they feel that whichever deal they decide on will benefit the consumers, and in turn boost their profits, they may go with that deal. But, considering Sprint hasn't done much with Clearwire, Dish just might be another alternative to look at.

It isn't about alternatives and business.
Its more like being in a crowded bar and the two ugliest chicks hitting on you. They believe the best chance they have of going home with someone is you. That is a real boost of self esteem.
Sprint buys a company or idea and runs it into the ground.
Dish buys a company and sucks every bit of life from it and its employees.
Both companies are maggots seeking out dying opportunities.

You, are a very blunt person! We need more people in this world!

huh?

Everytime people mention Sprint and Clearwire they see them as two different companies, I don't believe you can easily seperate them. The fact is that Sprint owns more than 50% of the shares and has contracts in place for service. There is a reason no one else has tried to buy Clearwire (besides its massive load of debt), they have to deal with Sprint one way or another. Sprint is too far committed to seeing an acquisition go through to let any part of Clearwire get sold off. I think this is just a 'up yours' from Dish because of all the stink Sprint caused with their recent FCC approval of terrestrial use of their satellite spectrum.
Who knows this may go through, but I highly doubt it.

Stock holders don't care about customers, they care about $$$, and millions and millions of dollars, nothing else.

Uh huh....and the path to making money is pissing off customers and alienating them? Do you REALLY think that?
The idea that it is possible to make money while not caring about the customer experience is specious reasoning at best.
Ultimately the only way to make money is by making customers happy.

Or by bribing government officials to extract it for you at gun point, under the guise of newer more fair laws that will benefit everyone of course.
