Why bother with this outdated phone if the new BB10 phone is coming out this month. This is a glorified feature phone. Boost sells the 9310 on prepaid for under $100.

Why does Apple bother keeping old and "outdated" phones around? The 3GS was just retired a couple of months ago!

RIM isn't going to just flip a switch and retire all past phones immediately with the introduction of BB10. That would leave them with just two phones on the market upon introduction.
There will be overlap with the two OS's to keep a range of phones out there at different price points, just as apple does.

We all know the phone is outdated, but few entry level phones if any are cutting edge either .

Except the 3GS is capable of A LOT more than every BB device that is currently out.

Apple outdated and RIM outdated mean completely different things.

A lot of people that have family internationally get them because you don’t get charged for international text messages on BBM. Also Blackberry devices are still more secure than IOS devices.

What Android device doesn't have a data only text app? BBM is hardly useful anymore.

Secure, yeah, because they have access to absolutely NOTHING. The idea of phone espionage is highly overrated - no one genuinely gives a **** about hacking your phone.

Unless you're a complete idiot, your Android device will never get a virus or be otherwise compromised.
