Motorola Scraps MPx Launch

I am a Communications Specialist for cingular wireless and I feel that this is the smartest thing they have done. The problems with this phone have been enormous, we have been getting a new customer every day with a problem with this phone. WORST PHONE EVER.

Umm The MPx isn't out for cingular... The Mpx220 is. The Mpx was an unreleased phone(in the US anyway) and they didn't say they were discontinuing the Mpx Line. Just the phone known as the Mpx. Do you really get that bad of customer feedback on the Mpx220? Everyone I have ever sold, the customer has loved it! There aren't many devices like it out there.

As far as the MPx series being plagued by bugs, thats totally a moto thing(even thought they didn't make the MPx220 hardware, chimei did). Look at the V551? Two weeks after release, the whitescreen bug was discovered. There were quite a few issues when the v400 came out as well. The V180? Outer display cracks when the tinyest amount of pressure is put on it(like sitting on it in your pock...

I was refering to them saying that they were discontinuing the production of the mpx220. And ya, the feedback out of our store up here in maine was awful.

"The company denied reports that the MPx220 has been discontinued."

The last time I looked at Cingular's phones list, the MPx220 was no where to be found... I guess it was just a matter of time before they realized how terrible this phone was.

My understanding is that it will resume shipping once the new ROM update passes final testing.
