Rich, you would need to troubleshoot your phones network settings. I am not sure how it works on iphone but on my Android I look under Network and wireless. I click on data network and then select WCDMA AUTO that should allow you to connect to faster 3G. If that doesnt work you are gonna have to contact tech support for TMO. I am using my Note 2 for ATT on Tmobiles 4G no contract plans. I live in between Granada Hills and Van Nuys in California.
