So, what exactly are they keeping besides the patents?

They seem to be shuttering EVERY piece and plant of Motorola. Are they still planning on making phones, or are they just going to license the patents and slap the name on some half@$$ LG POS?

At its heart, Google is a software and services company, not an OEM.

I dunno. I guess I believed Schmidt when he said last year that they were going to produce their own phone and "show Apple how it's done." I think that was Eric. Either way, I just thought that was their game plan.

There is ZERO doubt that Motorola is going to produce (and is probably refining as we speak) a Google super phone.

I hope they can do something awesome. My hate for huge annoying corporations aside I love to see when A company can pull something awesome off. I'm not getting super high hopes up but would be cool to see something new.
