One amazing app., can't even compare Apple Maps to it. Apple made a big mistake by not including it.

This wouldn't have existed if Apple kept it as the standard maps. Just like the YouTube App is 100x better now by booting it off the OS as a preloaded app. If they continued to keep the maps that was in all the previous iterations of iOS, it would have never had any of these features.

By pre-loading their maps, Google simply had no incentive to product a really great app.....by booting them, Apple finally gave Google a reason to stop ignoring iOS....

I am always the first one to bash Apple when they do something I think is wrong, so let me now praise them when I think they did right.,....it was very mature of Apple to approve this app for the App Store....I was afraid Apple was going to get territorial and reject it out of spite.....they were bigger than that....

I'd love to agree that apple is better then that and that's why they approved it but....... I think it has more to do with all the pissed Iphone 5 buyers that got stuck with a crappy maps software and apple needed a good alternative to theirs and google has one of the best if not the best maps software..

According to Google themselves, iOS now has the better iteration of Google Maps. Hopefully this will push Apple to get iOS maps the way they intended it to be.

And since they're not the pre-loaded variety, Google gets to brand their Maps/Navigation App however they want. If I remember correctly that was the stipulation they had if Apple wanted turn-by-turn. Now Google can market them however they want, and Apple gets to offer the (apparently) best maps app to their users. Everybody wins! 😁

Well, everybody except Windows Phone users, I suppose XD (that's me now, yay!)
