For here in the US and its vast areas of open spaces, CDMA is the best! (This is my opinion, so don't try to change it) GSM has some cool phones, interoperability, and features, but CDMA2000 still signal wise seems to work a little better.

I'm glad you did not also mention that Verizon is the best, because it really depends where you are in the country. Thank you for not doing that.

I am suprised to see the lack of replies to this thread so far 🙂

I'm also a litle surprised at the lack of responses. Prolly cause it's been talked to death... And yes, my statement was that CDMA is the superior technology to GSM - no provider in particular

The lack of replies may be because the GSM club lacks a fast uplink.

1xRTT generally has a faster uplink (I get 45 to 120 kbps) than UMTS (max 64 kbps).

CDMA is better. It is newer and more advanced. It is the fastest growing wireless technology in the WORLD. It is easier to build out and has a higher capacity than GSM. Faster data capabilities. This is the reason why some countries in Europe are starting to build out CDMA 450 network. In 5-10 years, wouldn't be surprised if there is a Tri-band or Quad-band CDMA phone that will work similar to Tri-band/Quad-band GSM with international roaming.
