No, I didn't get one because I didn't need one, and because, like almost all kids, I was brutal and harsh with anything I owned....my Nintendo, my Super Nintendo, all the computers I owned.....they all got the living crap beat out of them by my childhood....I would have done the same thing to a phone....in fact, children are notorious for losing or destroying their phones....I used to deal with that all the time at at&t...

Honestly...who exactly do kids have to call anyway? Dora the Explorer?

Not only did I not have a phone of my own, I had to ask special permission just to be able to use the home phone, and often that permission was denied.

Amazingly I turned out normal without all these alleged 'necessities'.
