Well, when you think about it, it makes sense. Back in the day, Sears sold EVERYTHING, and if you couldn't get it at your local store, you could get it through the catalog. In fact, that catalog was a shopping lifeline to people in very rural areas, since it gave them the option to buy things that wouldn't have been available locally. I'm old enough to remember, as a kid, when my aunt got the Sears Wish Book. The thing was a kid's dream come true, since it had descriptions and pictures of just about every toy available anywhere, and, every year, my aunt gave it to me. For the next few weeks after that, I'd go through it page by page and make my Christmas list.
But anyway, the company had a loyal customer base, and some of that loyalty is still there with some of the older folks. Personally, I don't think of Sears as the place to go to get a cell phone, but I guess someone does. Maybe if Consumer Cellular was smart, they'd let Sears slap the Kenmore branding on the phone.
