Big shock, another crummy LG.

I was not thrilled when I first heard that Google picked LG. Maybe they will go back to Samsung next year.
Agreed. I don't care how pretty the phone looks. It's still LG. I am hoping those rumors of a Galaxy Nexus 2 are true. Maybe Samsung will get it right next time around. They did with the GS3. I have a feeling though the that the next Nexus will be a Motorola though
I like the hardware and it was a good replacement for my old HTC Desire HD (inspire 4G on the US).
The camera is bad though. It works nicely when you have enough light, bad lighting render the camera useless (mainly it shows lots of gran).
About the battery life, I guess that stock Android is not that good at power management.
I am able to get a bit more than a day of use by tweaking the behavior of the phone a little bit (battery drains a lot when "idling" for some reason. Had to adjust notifications and behavior of the radios)
The battery life of the phone is not that bad if you tweak these a little bit. (it will last about a day), the display is one of the last things to worry about, it is all bad power management on the software side, the battery itself is big enough for the phone.

Note that it seems to be okay for me because I upgraded from the HTC Inspire 4g, the battery easily makes it through a full day of use (I upgraded my old HTC phone to a 1800MAh battery, did not see a big difference however)
Of course you'd expect to have far better battery life with a device that...

Yes you can get a bit more than a day (not near 2) out of the battery if you tweak the phone's behavior a little bit.
I think that the poor battery life could be som draining at an unusual high rate while idling...
Both are great phones, I like LG's customizations on the Optimus G; I hate Carriers' bloatware.
