Cricket Revamps Calling Plans
We need more of this!
I'm glad to see any expansion of these sorts of unlimited calling deals. It's a shame for me though that Cricket isn't available in my area (SF Bay Area). I was looking for just this sort of service and my only options are MetroPCS, or a $99 Nextel contract.

Cricket is a great program for many. The idea of unlimited calling in the places you live and work is great. They have their downside, however, such as extemely limited coverage areas and the inability to roam. After 7PM on Friday and Saturday nights the phone traffic on their network is so intense that the network blocks a lot of calls. Give people unlimited minutes and they take you up on the offer.

Or like myself, you can put Alltel prepay on NAM2. So if you leave your unlimited minutes carrier calling area, you just switch over to NAM2 and you don't skip a beat. 😉

That's not a bad idea... plus, how is call forwarding on there? Just have all the calls forwarded to your other line...

The thing is with these providers is they charge way too much for the handset and I'm sure there are other draw backs too, but I stopped looking when I saw they want 200.00 for a SE47 and 300.00 for a KX2, AFTER rebates. I'll stick with what I got, thanks.

the phones are not subsidized with no contract companies. Try buying one of the "free" phones from a contract carrier without the contract, and see how "free" it is then.
