Cingular / AT&TWS

I don't know why cingular / AT&TWS has such a bad reputation for poor service and most complaints. I switched to AT&TWS from VERIZON last november before the merger and my service is so much better. I used to get so many dropped calls with verizon and they're supposedly #1. Also, they have the worst selection of phones ever.

Have you called your new cust serv lately since the merger?? have you had to resolve any mistakes, if not thats why you havent noticed, when I was w/ at&t I called twice once to place warrenty exchange and once to cancel my serv, for people like that its prob ok, but for peopel who have to call cust serv 1 or twice a month they will notice the diff, since the merger

AT&T still have a separate customer service number than cingular and everything relating to billing etc is the same except the cingular name logo shows up on the bill now.

Their network is still a seperate network (cingular's reads "cingular wireless" and at&t's reads "cingular") due to a recent alpha tag change so nothing has really changed since the merger.

go to cingular forums and go back a month or 2 you'll see several people asking for help, or complaining about having to convert, (or being told they have to convert) RP phones, and sims. mainly because alot of the temp CSR's did not get trained enough, as well as several posts from people saying they waited on hold for 30min+, but from my friends who let the merger happen and did not call cust care, they are still satisfied w/ old phone and RP

Well it's not even a merger, it's an acquisition.

Cingular shouldn't be required to replace phones because they have the option to migrate for the same phones for the same prices. Perhaps, this is why there was so many complaints to cingular. If anything knew anything about phones, they would just buy one for a fraction of the cost off ebay to avoid all the frustrations and you would be able to keep your existing contract.

I know but there were so many cust that did not, and seems there were alot of temp reps who did not know as well, making the confusion between cust and company, and making the cust feel cheated
