Hmmm...wonder where Kyocera copied THIER slider from.....could it be SIEMENS???? Check the data, Kyo's SE44 was approved Aug. '03 whereas Siemens' SL55 was given the OK on Apr. 2nd of '03. Kyo's slider may have gotten out there more, but it sure wasn't first.

Just because the Siemens was approved by the FCC first doesn't mean that it was around first, it only means it was approved by the FCC before the Kyocera. The Kyocera could have been around alot sooner, just wasn't approved until after the Siemens.

Who cares who made the fist slider? who made the first flip phone? who made the first bar phone? who cares? they are good ideas.

Well, if thats the case, you may want to find out who created the first clamshell phone. Then come back and call everyone else a copycat. The majority of everything in existance is an improvement of someone else's idea, ie: the car, TV, audio, etc.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think Motorola was the first ones out with the clamshell, hence, A LOT of manufacturers have copied them. I also recall hearing that Motorola had some kind of patent, design rights or whatever on the clamshell style phones and that all the other manufacturers have to pay Motorola in order to "copy" it. Nokia is one company that has held out the longest in introducing a clamshell styled phone, but I do believe they finally coughed up the $$$ to Motorola to get into the "clamshell game".
